Twin Amur Leopard Cubs at Colchester Zoo

Two critically endangered Amur Leopard cubs were born at Colchester Zoo on the 9th September by mum Esra. The twin cubs continue to grow by the day and last week were named as Luka and Lena. When Leopards are mentioned, people usually think of Leopards roaming the savannahs in Africa however this rare subspecies has adapted to life in the Far East of Russia. They are so critically endangered that there are less than 100 cats left in the wild. Seeing these two cubs at Colchester is encouraging that numbers are increasing in captivity, maybe one day these cats will start being released back into the wild. Here are a few images I took a couple of weeks back when the two cubs were 12 weeks old.
