494th EFS Return Home from The Middle East

On Sunday 1st March, 12 F-15E Eagles from the 494th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron (EFS) returned home to RAF Lakenheath after a four month deployment in The Middle East. On the 18th October the ‘Panthers’ arrived at Al Dhafra AB in the United Arab Emirates to join another F-15E unit the the 4th FW based at Seymour Johnson. The 494th EFS then relocated to Prince Sultan AB in Saudi Arabia in January to join the 378th Air Expeditionary Group. 11 out of the 12 Eagles that returned on Sunday were sporting wrester style nose art which is fast becoming something of a tradition within the Strike Eagle community.
